Commercial Office Activity Report – Lower Fairfield County, Connecticut – By David P. Fugitt, SIOROverall office leasing activity in the eleven Towns we track in the first three quarters between 2016 and 2017 showed a significant decrease in total deals as well as a drop in square footage leased while asking lease rates show a modest increase. Furthermore the overall vacancy rate for all classes of vacant and available re-let office space increased from 12.6% in 2016 to 14.1% in 2017. These transaction numbers and vacancy statistics are from an inventory of 2,148 properties.
